What is Web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is the second stage of Web 1.0. Now, Web 2.0 changed from static webpages to dynamic webpages; thus allowing user-generated data. Users can now post items on website.

How did Web 2.0 develop in today's society?

Web 2.0 is a way more social, interactive and collaborative web than Web 1.0, where the users couldn't help contribute to the website. Web 2.0 has developed and changed today's society because a lot of people are using the web nowadays. Not only can the website owners give us the information, but now also we can contribute to the website, connect with other people who is on the web and give them our information.

What kind of people use Web 2.0?

Nowadays, there are a lot of different people who uses Web 2.0. They all range from 5 year old kids to 50 year old adults! Maybe even younger, maybe even older... Overall, there are a lot of different kinds of people who use Web 2.0. People with different kinds of jobs could also use Web 2.0, for example, the cashiers at McDonalds. They could use Web 2.0 to reach out to their peers/co-workers.

What are advantages of using the elements that Web 2.0 covers?

There are a variety of advantages of using the elements that Web 2.0 covers. In example, you could use it for online gaming, blogging, socializing, job opportunities and/or gather information.

What are the disadvantages of the elements that Web 2.0 covers?

Everything has a disadvantage and for Web 2.0, it doesn't save automatically. Web 2.0 doesn't save your information automatically, so you could lose all your information in a matter of seconds! Also, Web 2.0 does not come with any programs to protect a website from hackers. The website could be taken down in seconds/minutes/hours and it could take up to hours for it to get back up again. Your information won't be accessible if your website gets taken down.

Which elements of Web 2.0 suits your need as a student?

The elements which I need from Web 2.0 that suits my need as a student are:

  • Google
